Motorsport Ireland has supported Aron Smith throughout his racing career, following his progress up the ranks of Irish & British motorsports from karting to Renault Clio Cup.
Now that Aron is about to make his debut season in BTCC, Motorsport Ireland have asked Aron to be an ambassador for their FIA supported “Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011-2020,” initiative.
The aim of the initiative is to save five million lives on the world’s roads over the next ten years, which Aron is extremely proud to be involved in.

The DIT in partnership with the Irish Institute of Sport's Athlete Support Programme supports high performance sports men and women who have the talent and dedication to combine an academic course with excellence in sport. They award sport scholarships across a wide range of sports some 26 in total - from gaelic games, rugby and soccer to equestrian, boxing and motorsport. Aron Smith, is one of their 'elite' sport scholars on the programme, has been awarded financial assistance and additional athlete support services to enable him to compete at the highest level in his chosen field of motorsport for the past 2 years.
The DIT continue to support Aron, to enable him to achieve his full potential as an elite student-athlete and sport scholar at DIT.
